My Hero Academia Reveals the Big 3's New Costumes (And We're Obsessed) (2025)

My Hero Academia's final conclusion and time skip epilogue, "More" (chapter #431), that occurs eight years in the future, has revealed many exciting details of the characters' lives that have changed over that gap of time, and one of the most intriguing updates was the heroes' post-time skip designs. Previous U.A. High students like Izuku and Bakugo have been given fresh new appearances, stunning viewers with just how different and grown up they look compared to their previous high school selves.

Some of the best of these My Hero Academia epilogue designs are the new hero costumes for an important trio in the series: The Big Three of U.A. High. Although this iconic group is sometimes overshadowed by more prominent heroes at the school, their solid friendship that stood the test of time, quirky personalities, and solid friendship as a group make them forever memorable, and well-deserving of their new updated looks.

These Changes to Their Hero Outfits Reflect Important Details About Their Character Arcs and Personalities

Many other popular Pro Heroes like Mirko, Mt. Lady, and Best Jeanist received stylish new costumes in this epilogue, but the Big Three's new looks are undoubtedly some of the coolest. Mirio Togata, known by the hero name, Lemillion, has a new hero suit with the number one million emblazoned on the front, as well as a unique pompadour hairstyle that is twisted in the front, very different from his old short, spiked haircut from his high school days. Nejire Hado, also known by her hero name Nejire-Chan, underwent changes as well, dramatically refreshing her familiar hairstyle too.

One of Nejire's most notable new traits is her long hair that flows down to her waist. Her hair was very short after the Paranormal Liberation War arc, when Dabi burnt it off during a battle, but it seems that after the time skip, she chose to grow it back out to its previous length. The final member of the Big Three group, Tamaki Amajiki, known as Sun Eater, also updated his hero costume, most obviously, with a set of spikes around the front part of the hood of his costume that shield his face from view. His entire outfit also appears to be a darker shade than its previous white color.

Mirio Has Even Claimed the #1 Spot, Taking All Might’s Place

Tamaki has always been a more reclusive and shy person. Although his friendship with Mirio and self-development helped him overcome some of that insecurity in earlier chapters of My Hero Academia, it seems Tamaki still has no desire to be directly in the spotlight, based on this addition to his hero costume. The improvements to these characters' costumes are not just fun and meaningless designs, each new element has an important connection. Mirio's creative new haircut reflects his outgoing, unabashed nature, Nejire's long hair hints at a past battle, and Tamaki's mask of spikes reveals his relatively reserved attitude.

These new hero costumes also confirm that the Big Three are still working to keep humanity safe, following the dreams they first chased over eight years ago back at U.A High. Remarkably, Mirio even became the #1 Pro Hero in the world, taking All Might's place since Deku no longer worked as a hero and began teaching instead. Nejire ranked #7 and Tamaki ranked #18, placing each of them in the top #20 heroes. These impressive My Hero Academia hero rankings are no small feat, and prove that the Big Three are just as influential as they were in high school, even years later.
